Peter & The Wolf Concerts with the Hawai'i Symphony Orchestra
The Hawai‘i Symphony Orchestra (HSO) has partnered with the Honolulu Zoo Society to present eight special presentations of Sergei Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf throughout the summer. The perfect introduction to symphonic music for keiki, these concerts will be held at the Honolulu Zoo and will be conducted by Sarah Hicks, HSO’s artistic advisor JoAnn Falletta, as well as the orchestra’s new music director Dane Lam.
In Peter and the Wolf, each character is represented by a different orchestra instrument. Playful interactions between the instruments and narration guides audiences through the story. The piece also teaches important life lessons to children in a way that is both educational and entertaining.
