Ehu is shown here selecting a leaf from the banana stalk which she took to a higher branch in the exhibit. Lucy liked using the leaves to make a nest, while others ate them or used them to play and wrestle in. |
Holes were cut into the stalk of a banana tree and stuffed with pieces of carrot, bananas, monkey chow and leaf eater biscuits. Each of the monkeys took up a different position along the tree, which eliminated conflict. | |

Onyx, the alpha male, immediately checked out the banana tree after it was put into the exhibit, eating the pieces of banana first. Hours later, after all the treats were removed, he began eating the leaves. |
