White-Handed Gibbon Enrichment
Fire Hose Hammock

A fire hose hammock was woven and hung from climbing structure. The entire gibbon family were interested in the nuts and bolts clamping the underside of the hammock. The gibbon family were constantly moving on, off and around the hammock.

Micah was in constant motion running along the edge, swinging from it and taking flying leaps into the hammock.

Japan and baby Emma had to move out of the hammock because Micah, after 4 hours,  decided it belonged to him.
